What is Volume Enhancement?

Volume enhancement uses dermal fillers and injectables to restore age-related volume loss and fill in hollowed areas of the face. Volume loss is caused by decreased production of collagen, a protein in the skin that gives it elasticity and structure. As collagen is lost, wrinkles and loose skin develop. Unfortunately, this is an inevitable part of the skin’s natural aging process. Environmental factors like sun exposure also break down collagen fibers and can lead to premature aging. To restore volume and a more youthful appearance, hyaluronic acid

fillers or other soft tissue fillers can be used to plump and smooth the skin. We offer many types of fillers that can be used for your volume enhancement treatment. Injectables like Sculptra and Radiesse are popular choices because they stimulate your own natural collagen production for long-lasting results. Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers from Juvéderm, Restylane, and more can also be included to treat mild to severe facial wrinkles for a fully rejuvenated appearance.

The Volume Enhancement Procedure

Volume enhancement is a non-surgical treatment that is virtually painless. First, Dr. Ghafouri will numb your skin with a topical anesthetic. Next, the fillers of your choice will be injected into various areas of the face with a fine needle. These injections will be carefully placed so that you can enjoy full-face rejuvenation with fillers that blend into your natural contours. The entire procedure takes less than an hour.

Volume Enhancement Recovery

There is minimal downtime and recovery after volume enhancement. Mild swelling, bruising, and redness around the injection sites are common but will improve within a few days. We recommend that you avoid strenuous exercise and sun exposure until the swelling has gone down. Excessive movement and heat could cause inflammation and worsen swelling.

Results will develop gradually as new collagen develops in the treatment area. Complete results can be seen in about 1-3 months and can last up to two years, but this varies depending on the specific injectable(s) used during the procedure.
