Who Is a Candidate for Dysport?

Ideal candidates for treatment using Dysport are those seeking a minimally invasive way to treat dynamic wrinkles on the face, like frown lines between the eyes. When deciding between injectable neurotoxins, Dysport candidates appreciate the longer-lasting and early-onset results of Dysport when compared to other popular injectables. Candidates should be in good overall health and should maintain realistic expectations regarding the outcome of Dysport treatments. Dysport is not recommended for those with a botulinum toxin or milk allergy. Neuromodulators are not recommended for patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Dysport Treatment

Dysport treatment at Arizona Oculoplastic Specialists begins with a thorough cleansing of the treatment area to ensure the skin is free from any impurities before beginning injections. In some cases, a topical numbing agent can be applied to the skin to ensure your comfort, but most patients do not find this step necessary. Next, your provider will inject the Dysport into the skin in the predesignated treatment area using a fine-gauge needle. In all, the actual injection process takes around 15 minutes to complete.

Dysport Recovery and Results

Immediately following Dysport injections, you may notice a slight redness or tenderness at the injection site. These should subside over the course of the next 24 hours as the product begins to settle. For the next four hours after treatment, you will be advised not to touch your face, lie down on the treatment area, or engage in strenuous activity, which can cause unwanted product migration. Results of smoother and younger-looking skin begin to appear around 3 days after injection, with full results emerging after about a week.
