Smooth and soften those wrinkles and look as young as you feel.
What is Xeomin?
Xeomin is an FDA-approved neurotoxin that consists of a purified form of botulinum toxin type A (incobotulinumtoxinA) that’s injected into the muscles in the face to temporarily block the nerve signals from the brain that cause the facial muscles to contract.
By stopping the muscles from contracting, you allow the unwanted forehead lines, crow’s feet and upper facial lines to smooth out, leaving you with a younger-looking appearance.
Who is a Good Candidate for Xeomin?
Ideal candidates for Xeomin and other botulinum toxin products include adults who are generally healthy, are not pregnant or breastfeeding, have realistic expectations, and are looking for nonsurgical, temporary treatment options to address dynamic wrinkles like frown lines. It can also be a perfect option for those who have developed a resistance to Botox and other neuromodulators or want to reduce the risk of an allergic reaction.
However, patients with drooping eyelids may need to dicuss other effective treatment options with their healthcare provider. As research on Xeomin progresses, medical applications have also been proven beneficial when used to treat cervical dystonia and upper limb spasticity.
What to Expect from Xeomin
Xeomin treatment is relatively simple. We’ll start by cleansing the treatment area. While most patients tolerate the treatment well, we can apply a topical anesthetic to the planned injection site before to ensure your comfort.
From there, your provider will inject the Xeomin into the treatment area to give you the results you’re looking for. Treatment typically takes about 20 minutes.

Recovery After Xeomin Injections
After your Xeomin injections, you’ll be able to go back to your normal routine immediately. The most common side effects you may experience include redness, swelling, bruising, headache, and itchiness at the injection site, but these effects subside relatively quickly. If you have allergic reactions to other botulinum toxin products, Xeomin could cause complications including muscle weakness and trouble breathing.
To ensure the best results, you will want to move your facial muscles to evenly spread the formula. You’ll also want to avoid wearing makeup, touching or rubbing your face, and lying down for four hours to prevent skin infection and other complications.
It typically takes about 3-4 days to start to see the results of treatment, with final results showing up after a few weeks. Results tend to last 3-4 months.
