Non-surgical skin rejuvenation

What is Morpheus8?

As we age, we will all face unsightly skin laxity and sagging due to our body’s declining collagen and elastin production. Fortunately, today’s aesthetic technology allows us to rebuild new collagen and elastin. Addressing the actual structure of the skin will improve both the outer tone and texture, as well as the resiliency and tautness. These changes can be achieved with a noninvasive treatment: RF (radiofrequency) microneedling.

Dr. Ali Ghafouri, Arizona’s leading facial plastic surgeon, is pleased to offer Morpheus8, the top-performing RF microneedling treatment suitable for all skin types. This treatment works well on your face, neck, décolleté and more. Morpheus8 microneedling has the longest microneedles currently approved by the FDA, which can reach as deep as 8 millimeters beneath the skin for maximum rejuvenation.

The Benefits of Morpheus8

Morpheus8 is highly successful at producing younger-looking skin. It can treat a variety of cosmetic skin issues simultaneously, such as:

  • Loose skin and sagging skin
  • Skin texture
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Oversized pores
  • Scars (including acne scars)
  • Excess fatty volume in the face and neck

Who Is a Candidate for Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 is a non-invasive treatment with minimal risks, making it safe for most patients. While some skin treatments are not meant for people with darker complexions, Morpheus8 works well on patients of all skin tones with proper pretreatment. During a consultation, we can review your candidacy for Morpheus8 and other treatments, as Morpheus8 couples well with other laser services for combined results.

Morpheus8 Recovery

Because it is non-invasive, Morpheus8 requires minimal downtime. Your skin may appear somewhat red and irritated for a few days, but you are free to resume your normal activities, including work, as soon as your treatment is finished. After 24 hours, you may begin to wear makeup to conceal any lingering redness. Be sure to wear sunscreen anytime you are outdoors because your skin is especially sensitive following treatment– also, avoid direct sun exposure during the first 24 hours.

Morpheus8 Results

It generally takes several weeks before you start to see the positive effects of Morpheus8. Results are not instantaneous because your body gradually increases collagen production, which smooths your skin. The best results can be seen about three months after your treatment.

To maximize their results, many patients undergo multiple Morpheus8 treatments, each one spaced at least a month apart. The number of treatments depends on your own cosmetic goals and the preexisting condition of your skin.

Frequently Asked Questions about Morpheus8

What exactly is Morpheus8, and how does it combine microneedling with radiofrequency energy to rejuvenate my skin?

Morpheus8 uses very fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries while simultaneously delivering radiofrequency energy into the dermis and subdermal tissue, which triggers collagen remodeling and skin tightening from the inside out.

How is Morpheus8 different from traditional microneedling or other RF microneedling devices you offer?

Compared to traditional microneedling, Morpheus8 reaches deeper layers and adds focused RF heat for more significant tightening and contouring, and it offers more adjustable depth and energy settings than many other RF microneedling devices.

What kinds of skin concerns can Morpheus8 address?

Morpheus8 can address fine lines and wrinkles, skin laxity, uneven texture, enlarged pores, acne scarring, stretch marks, and certain types of discoloration or crepiness.

Which areas of the face and body are most commonly treated with Morpheus8?

Common treatment areas include the full face, jawline, and neck, as well as the chest, abdomen, thighs, knees, upper arms, and other spots with lax or crepey skin.

How many sessions do most patients need, and how far apart are they usually scheduled?

Most patients need about 3 to 4 sessions spaced roughly 4 to 6 weeks apart, with the exact number depending on the severity of concerns and treatment goals.

Am I a good candidate for Morpheus8 if I have a darker skin tone?

Morpheus8 is considered safe and effective for all Fitzpatrick skin types, including darker skin tones, because RF energy is not pigmentu2011dependent like many lasers and penetrates below the surface to minimize risk of hyperpigmentation.

How do you help me choose between Morpheus8 and other technologies you offer, like lasers or ultrasound-based skin tightening?

A provider typically compares your concerns, skin type, and downtime tolerance to the strengths of each technology, often recommending Morpheus8 for deeper tightening and textural change, lasers for surface pigment and resurfacing, and ultrasound or other devices for more focused lifting. Call to schedule a consultation with our laser tech and they will assist you in choosing the treatment best suited for you.

What does the treatment feel like, and what numbing or comfort measures do you use to keep patients comfortable?

Treatment usually feels like pressure, heat, and quick pinpricks; most practices apply a topical numbing cream and may add additional comfort measures such as a local anesthetic or cooling to keep you as comfortable as possible.

How much downtime should I plan for after treatment?

Downtime is often 1 to 3 days of redness and mild swelling, sometimes with light flaking or pinpoint marks for a few more days, and many patients feel comfortable returning to normal activities within a couple of days with proper aftercare.

Can Morpheus8 be combined in the same treatment plan with fillers, neurotoxins, or laser resurfacing?

Yes, Morpheus8 is commonly combined with fillers, neurotoxins, and sometimes laser treatments, but providers usually stage them, often doing Morpheus8 first to build collagen and texture, then layering injectables or lasers afterward for optimal, harmonious results.
